Motodestra
is the alias of multi-instrumentalist Daniel Halliday,
based in West Yorkshire. Motodestra's music has been compared to The
Durutti Column, July Skies, The Album Leaf, Portal, Four Tet, Tristeza,
Felt, King of Woolworths and others.
Motodestra released a self-titled album with funding from The Prince's
Trust in 2005, gaining positive reviews from the All-Music Guide,
tangents.co.uk, whisperinandhollerin.com and leonardslair.co.uk, who
included Motodestra in their Best of 2005 list.
Digital download site Tunetribe recently highlighted Motodestra as one of the most promising unsigned acts, and Motodestra was named as the best import album of 2005 by Ari Stein in the Australian edition of Hotpress magazine.
